SoftBoxes are expensive and essential studio tools. As per the ZTphilosophy our products must be sturdy, practical, innovative, long lasting, effective, and best bang for buck.

When we first decided to build soft boxes for the industry we considered sourcing products from softbox manufacturers and make changes to our igher standards. However, too many things had to change. In the end we simply put it together from scratch the way it should be built. Some of the things that make your ZTbox different are:

  1. We insist on flame retardant material because you combine electricity, heat, and 1000 watt flashes and use that in close proximity to people and expensive equipment. All surfaces have flame retardant coatings that do not dissolve the nylon, or yellow the screens.
  2. The steel rods are extruded from tool grade spring steel. You don't want them to snap or bend your box out of shape. Out of shape boxes create hot spots. Rods are round-tipped with aluminium and rubberized. You don't want your rod to poke a hole in your expensive box.
  3. Rod pockets are triple stitched AND strenghthened with rubber linings. You don't want your box's pockets ripped out. Your box's pockets are part of the frame, which forms the shape, which shapes the light. A ripped pocket bends the box out of shape.
  4. Your ZTbox employs various levels of light baffles and reflectors. You don't want a hot spot caused by a soft box ... or maybe you do ... so we made it optional.
  5. ZTboxes use a higher grade aluminized mylar and a heavier gauge material. Everything is double stitched.
  6. Your ZT soft box will have vents, vent pockets and velcro vent lids when required.
  7. White front screens stain over time because of dust buildup and accidental spills or being touched by the stylists who had gel or makeup on her hands. ZeeTee Studio softboxes utilize a grade of nylon screen that can be succesfully treated with ScotchGuard to make it more stain resistant. Be careful not to spray ScotchGuard on other soft box screens, chances are they will yellow in a very short while.
